TRASH SERIES

Since I’ve been in the United States, I have noticed that Americans waste a lot of disposable products and barely used things, so we have too much garbage on the street. It’s a different culture in my country because we must recycle, and we are very strict about sorting garbage for collection. Most people just care about new stuff and clean objects, but the garbage looks a like treasure to me it is fantastic. I’m very interested in old things and abandoned stuff because the feel and look of these things are great for me. I want to make garbage look clean and charming. It will be a collection of beautiful trash.

  1. Greetings Hye Ryum Son,

I really like your beautiful trash! And agree we waste a lot here in the States and west--in general. When I was taking photography classes, a professor--Marshall Berman suggested we look at some very common things in our life, even refuse. I did and tried to present these uniquely weathered used items for what they were--and unique in their individuality. Maybe, sort of like people.

    Sincerely,
    Daniel Wilson
